Rare Vintage Anatolian Kilim Rug. Flat-woven Wool Floor Covering

A rare vintage hand-woven flat-weave (kilim) rug from Turkey with an unusual design and color story. It features a single column of a border running across the length of the rug in beautiful, glowing maroon red. It is decorated with fetter and wolf's mouth motifs mounted on each other and has a lovely serrated finish. Next to this border column is a separate and larger column made up of multiple horizontal rows of star motifs that are masterfully rendered to a kaleidoscopic effect in gorgeous tones of wine red, maroon red, celadon green, violet blue, burnt orange and black. This column also has a similar serrated finish against the black field.

The design is original. The rug is in very good original condition. It is made of 100% Wool and reversible. It is also professionally cleaned.
